This new community center is in the middle of a 2800-unit housing complex in southwest Shanghai. The program includes community activity areas, meeting rooms and offices. The building serves as a sustainable demonstration project with planned green design components which include closed-loop geothermal system for heating and cooling, a bioclimatic southern wall to promote natural ventilation, and maximized natural daylighting and ventilation through site placement, plan and elevation.
