When Clinton Hospital became part of the UMASS Health System in 1995, HKT developed a master plan for adding a 40,000 sf ambulatory care center, upgrading the existing physical plant, and creating a sense of arrival to the campus. We recommended positioning the upper two levels of the new ambulatory care wing above the existing emergency department. In addition, our proposed layout enabled direct access from inpatient rooms in the hospital to the diagnostic services in the new addition.
