Scituate High School
Renovations to the Scituate High School involved substantial changes and improvements to both the interior and exterior elements of the building. One of the project’s key challenges was to develop and achieve a construction plan that carefully phased complex renovations to an occupied facility.
Interior modifications include a restructuring of the student and visitor entrances in order to improve access, security, and control. Similarly, the administrative areas were relocated to support greater visual control and to encourage interaction between students and staff.
Public entries and roadways were redesigned to improve safety and access. Other site improvements included reconstruction of pavements and installation of new walkways, playing fields, and landscaping. The project also provided major upgrades to floor, wall, and ceiling finishes and to the building systems including ventilation, lighting and technology. Envelope improvements included all new windows and selective roof replacement.
