Tisbury Emergency Services Facility
Tisbury, MA

The Tisbury Emergency Services Facility is the Town’s first sustainable municipal project. The facility design utilizes a high performance envelope and energy efficient mechanical and electrical systems to exceed ASHRAE standards by over 40 percent. The facility uses a geothermal field of 22 shallow wells to provide the heating and cooling, and has solar thermal roof panels to provide supplemental hot water. The majority of the construction products were selected to contain recycled content, including the building’s structure steel, concrete, finishes. An indoor air quality management plan (IAQ), implemented during construction, limits toxins from construction materials, limits dust created during construction and restricts moisture from infiltrating into the facility’s building system. The use of an IAQ plan will provide a clean work environment when construction is complete.
