Lakes Region Community College Master Plan
In part to respond to the changing needs of the diverse student and faculty at Holy Cross College, campus personnel looked at the scattered sites that housed fitness activities and decided to centralize and upgrade these facilities at the Hart Center. During the planning for this addition several options were reviewed to organize the two major components into a simplified addition. The upper level, open to all students and faculty, contain spaces for aerobics, circuit training and exercise equipment. The lower level provides varsity facilities for weight training and includes power lifting and stretching and aerobic workouts under the direction of varsity coaches.
The open layout allows for maximum flexibility as equipment and training changes and the extensive walls of glass were selected to lend transparency so that people can take advantage of both the views of athletic fields and so that people passing through can view activities underway.
